In our ongoing series of listening to surround sound renderings of revered recordings, we assembled at Gerry’s for a listen to the most recent Atmos mix of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. As always the raffle was the high point of the meeting.

DCHFG June 1, 2024 Meeting

With the Summer of 2024 officially underway, we return to familiar ground at the house of Gary Gill (Capital Audiofest, etc.) for an afternoon of refreshment and audiophile activities. DCHFG President John Gatski updated us on current and planned activities of the club including the annual beach party in Delaware. Afternoon Delight with ELO

For our September meeting, we had a Vinyl Night in the afternoon courtesy of Dr. Vinyl’s listening room in Maryland. Dr. Vinyl is one of our industry members carrying a wide range of audio products. Many of his offerings tilt toward the extreme High-End but he has systems that would satisfy all music lovers. Of course, the emphasis is on vinyl LP reproduction. DC Hi-Fi Group Meeting – March 19, 2022

The March 19th meeting of The DC H-iFi Group found forty like-minded persons of the audiophile ilk traipsing from all over to the Alexandria, Va. location. This was the “CD is not Dead” meeting featuring the new Gold Note CD-1000 Mk II. I did not know that the CD dying was a thing. We have been giving away hundreds of CDs at every meeting from the Classical collection of about 12,000 CDs donated to the club. January 2022 Meeting – SOTA Turntables

It was a bitter cold early Saturday when I headed down to Rockville from Baltimore. A snowstorm gave just a glancing blow with barely an inch of snow. Roads were clear and dry, making travel easy. This month’s meeting, hosted by Ken Wolff of SOTA Tutntables and Command Performance’s Jon Archer, highlighted the new Nova VI and the Comet VI turntables.
